Jefferson County ESC - Virtual Learning Academy

The Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) is an online curriculum provider offering over 300 core and elective courses to students in grades K-12. VLA courses are 100% aligned to State and National Content Standards. VLA serves students who are credit deficient, home bound, home schooled, incarcerated, or any other reason the superintendent deems necessary. The VLA courses are:

•Designed to promote reading and the ability to analyze and articulate thoughts

•Designed to meet the National Academic Content Standards

•Developed by a public Educational Service Center

•Created to use an Active Learning Style

•Accessible online day or night, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

•Housed on full-secure, off-site servers with hourly backups
